The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of visitors to the PPARx.org Web site (the "Web site"). We may from time to time revise this Privacy Policy. We will post any changes here, so be sure to check back periodically. By visiting the Web site, you are accepting the policies described in this Privacy Policy. Your continued use of this Web site, after such changes have been posted, will constitute your acceptance of such changes. If you have questions about these policies, we encourage you to talk to us by using our feedback form.

Collection of Information:

If you decide to fill out an application for prescription assistance using the Web site, you may be asked to provide personal information, such as name, address, phone number, birth date, social security number, and other information. In order to determine which prescription programs are available to you, you may also be asked to list which medications you need. Our systems are designed to maintain your application information for a short period of time (usually less than an hour) in order to give you enough time to finish and print your forms.

Use of Information:

PhRMA may use your information to: (a) process and respond to your inquiries and for the purposes for which you provided the information, such as to receive email updates; (b) improve the content and navigability of the Web site; and (c) enforce our Terms of Use. Unless you request that we maintain your information (e.g., add you to an email distribution list), our systems are designed to delete your personally identifiable information automatically once your session on the Web site expires. We do not sell, rent, loan, or lease any personal information collected at our site. We may share your information with the proper authorities in response to a subpoena, legal order or official request, or when we believe you have acted in violation of our Terms of Use.

How We Protect Information:

We use reasonable safeguards to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of your personal information. When you are in the process of filling out an application on the Website, your information is protected by SSL certificate encryption, one of the most widely used online secure transaction mechanisms in the world.

Browser Information Collected on Our Web Site:

As with most Web site operators, PhRMA analyzes the Web site logs to constantly improve the functionality of the Web site. We use an external service to provide real-time reporting to us and to our authorized agents of visits to the Web site. We do not use this service to gather, request, record, require, collect or track any Internet users' personally identifiable information.

Use of Cookies:

We use "cookies" on the Web site to support certain functions and to better understand how our visitors use the Web site. A "cookie" is an element of data that a website can send to your browser, which your browser may then store on your system. Depending on your browser type, you likely can set your browser to notify you when you receive a "cookie," giving you the opportunity to decide whether to accept it. However, please note that rejecting or disabling cookies may prevent you from taking advantage of certain features of the PPARx.org website.

Mailing Lists:

PhRMA maintains several email lists to keep PhRMA members, the press, policy makers, and others informed. Individuals must make an affirmative request to be added to one of our mailing lists. Individuals who provide optional information may also receive materials in the U.S. mail and/or be contacted by telephone by authorized PhRMA representatives. We do not share the email addresses on our lists with anyone outside of PhRMA staff and authorized agents. You may change your preferences relating to the receipt of PhRMA information by using our feedback form. We will use reasonable efforts to process any changes you request.

This Web site is not directed toward children under 13 years of age nor does PhRMA knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not submit any personally identifiable information to PhRMA. If you are between the ages of 13 and 18, you must obtain a parent's permission before submitting any information to PhRMA through the Web site or otherwise.
