(August 19, 2010) – Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) Senior Vice President Wes Metheny issued the following statement today on the Medicare Part D program: “Since its inception, Medicare Part D has provided seniors and disabled Americans with unprecedented access to medicines at affordable prices. This track record of success continues with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ estimate of a $30 average monthly Part D premium in 2011, which represents only a $1 increase from this year’s level.

More Than 100,000 Oklahomans Helped Through PPA; Thousands May Still Be Eligible For Assistance Washington, D.C. (May 20, 2010) — With the recent tornadoes in Oklahoma causing widespread damage and devastation, the Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPA) is stepping up efforts to help people in the state who are uninsured and financially struggling. To date, the PPA has already helped more than 100,000 Oklahomans in need by connecting them to patient assistance programs that provide medicines for free or nearly free, but thousands may still be eligible for help. Since its debut in April 2005, the PPA has helped more than 6.5 million Americans nationwide.
